‘The Teardrop’ — Pinterest

The teardrop slid across the film of her eyeball in an effortless manner. It was free and it was happy as it slid down to the dark marble bench below. She didn’t mind though that every teardrop was the same. For every teardrop formed part of a unique and integral healing phase, destined to make way for new opportunities and new connections, in her life. The tears that had hurt her in the past didn’t hurt her anymore. They didn’t sting her eyes or cause a burning sensation in her chest like they used to. No. These teardrops didn’t make her feel weak and pathetic, they made her feel strong and ready to embrace change.

These teardrops represented a symbolic release of negative energy. A release of all that was holding her back. It felt liberating to have a tear drop escape her eye and not cause pain, but rather comfort. The tears flowed steadily like her body was rejecting the hatred and bitterness that had been building inside of her. These tears were the equivalent of releasing air from a tire. Relaxing and comforting. Like a much needed breath taken after being underwater for too long.

These tears were pure and innocent in contrast to the pain that she had experienced. The pain today, was a necessary healing process to embrace the blessings coming to her in the near future. But the pain of the past was nothing short of destructive, unproductive and devastating. For her mental health had…
